In honor of API Heritage Month, South Bay First Thursdays brings you our annual talent showcase, (Re)Present 2014, on Thursday, May 8th at the Theatre on San Pedro Square. Join us as we celebrate API excellence in performance art, dance, music, and spoken word.

SPECIAL acoustic set with Run River North (formerly Monsters Calling Home). The Los Angeles-based Korean-American musicians produced a music video from inside their Hondas. The video went viral — and straight to the carmaker. The company rewarded the group with a surprise performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Additionally, they just finished touring with Goo Goo Dolls! A few of their members will be joining South Bay First Thursdays to celebrate API Heritage Month at (Re)Present.
SoalniaS (pronounced as soul-nice) is an upcoming Bay Area, Thai-Laotian singer. She is an active supporter of other upcoming Asian/Pacific Islander artists, organizing with API artists to reshape the larger Bay Area music community. Her next step in her music career and activism is to radically change the way the music industry perceives API artists and continue to break the “model minority” stereotype by inspiring others in her community to vocalize their stories.
Peter Chung is a singer songwriter who is following his dream to be a famous musician. Since quitting his job in 2012, he has shared the stage with 3x Grammy winner Esperanza Spalding, won Kollaboration SF 2012, won the Diesel Indie Music Contest SF 2013, and was a semi-finalist for the International Songwriter Competition 2013.
Peter Chung released his debut album “i write WE sing” in January 5th, 2014.
Chara Bui is a singer, songwriter who enjoys playing her guitar on her lap. She will be performing an original guitar composition at (Re)present.
Anna Ha is currently a student at the University of California Davis. She has performed at Vagina Monologues, Sick Spits, open mics and many more. She will be joining us to perform her exclusive Vagina Monologue performance and a duo-spoken word.
Alyson Noele Sagala is a female spoken word artist, an activist, and a traveler. A recent graduate of UC Davis, she placed 3rd in the annual SickSpits Poetry Slam last year. She spends her time at one too many music festivals, prancing through tea gardens with her friends, and trying her best to combine her love for poetry and political action into creating ar
Wrawsome is a competitive dance team located in the south bay. Wrawsome showcases and competes all around California and has performed at shows like Battlefest 360, Collaboration, and Breakthrough.
Fresh Gentz have been singing together for 13 years. These Gentz love keepin’ it Fresh with their rugged RnB sound. They have the passion to sing, but most of all to entertain the crowd.
